Hi! I'm Alex your manual Osteopath!

20250729_200919~2.jpg

With a rich and varied professional background, I bring a unique and deeply compassionate approach to manual osteopathy. After exploring several career paths, it was through massage therapy at the SPA NORDIK in Chelsea that I discovered a true passion for helping others heal. However, it quickly became clear that massage alone wasn’t enough—there was a need to uncover the root causes of pain and dysfunction, not just manage symptoms.

This realization led to the path of manual osteopathy—a practice that aligned perfectly with my belief in holistic, informed care. I graduated from the National Academy of Osteopathy ( NAO ) in Toronto and today, as the founder of Osteo Perras, I am committed to empowering clients through education, awareness, and hands-on treatment. Every session is approached with kindness, curiosity, and a drive to make a lasting difference.

Clients can expect more than just treatment—they’ll gain personalized insights, practical tools, and guided home exercises designed to support and sustain their healing journey. With my outgoing nature and genuine passion for well-being creates a welcoming, collaborative environment where clients feel truly seen, heard, and cared for.

Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, mobility issues, or just seeking a more informed approach to your health, I am here to guide you—body, mind, and movement—toward lasting change.

What is a DOMP in Canada?

Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) Practitioner with a DOMP is a manual therapist, not a medical doctor. They cannot prescribe medication, perform surgery, or diagnose medical conditions. Their practice focuses on hands-on therapy to improve mobility, reduce tension, and support systemic function, similar to massage, physiotherapy, or chiropractic care. Osteopathy, as practiced by a DOMP, is a natural medicine that aims to restore the body's function by treating the causes of pain and imbalance. It involves light pressure and stretching—a sense of touch—to assess and treat tissues such as muscles, fascia, bones, joints, nerves, blood vessels, and organs. DOMPs work to enhance the body's natural capacity to self-regulate and self-heal. There are many different techniques that DOMPs are trained in, which are selected based on the patient’s specific symptoms, conditions and the affected body system. Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment is a non-invasive, medication-free treatment option that can be safely combined with other medical treatments to improve outcomes. It is considered safe with few side effects, typically minor soreness or stiffness.

What do I wear for my appointment?

I will treat you in what you are comfortable wearing. For treatment purposes, I may ask you to remove a belt, or a sweater if you have layers underneath, but I am are able to do what I need to do with you fully clothed. You are always in control of your treatment and we listen to your wishes and respect them. I recommend not wearing a dress, tight jeans or anything restrictive as it will make your range of motion limited.

How often do I need to come for an
osteopathic treatment?

Everyone is different. Sometimes a chronic issue that has been affecting you for multiple years won't just take 1 treatment to fix. After the first assessment I will have a better idea of what the issue is and find a treatment plan that works for you. It can be a few treatments per year or it can be 3 times a week for a whole month depending on the severity of your issue.
